ECB (European Blockchain Convention) – the most influential event for the Blockchain space, just recently took place in Barcelona and Smart Web Agency were lucky to be a part of it. Three days of event came packed with keynotes, workshops, discussions,1:1 meetings and networking through the current state of blockchain, crypto, DeFi, NFTs, and Web 3.
It was an awesome networking event, and we were lucky to meet some of the pioneers in the Blockchain space. The 27th and 28th of June brought thousands of blockchain enthusiasts under one roof from all around the world, with an agenda consisted of 40+ debates and some solo speeches. Coinbase, Meta, Ditrikt, Nexo, Zilliqa, Santander, Bitmex, Bit.com and Nexo are some of the names from the long list of sponsors and speakers.
Here are some of the main findings from the event,
- Defi – Defi remained the highlight of almost all discussions. Blockchain community is revolutionising the Defi protocols and creating a new infrastructure to support its activities. The objective remains the same – to create an economy which is transparent, secured and owned by individuals.
- Data – Sharing personal information is the hot property for the advertising world and Blockchain is there to change it completely. It’s going to be a completely transparent model for data sharing and if you decide to share it on Blockchain then get ready to be rewarded! Simply put, you hold full control of your data, you can footprint it, track it and earn money from it. It’s your data in the end and Blockchain makes it happen for you. Data is the new fuel and this time with this very decentralised model, you are the beneficiary of your footprints not some other tech giants.
- NFTs – There is a lot that is happening in this space, hundreds of artists starting their journeys everyday with thousands of NFTs minted every hour. It’s a great time to invest in good NFT projects considering the bearish nature of market. Some great NFT artists were the speakers and attendees of ECB as well.
- Web3 – The core principles of the third phase of web remained the highlight of ECB and were repeatedly discussed at the event. There couldn’t be more stress laid out on the necessity of establishing a transparent system that is democratically governed with a shared ownership and provides direct rewards to its participants.
