For a pick your own farm in Kent, we built a custom Laravel booking and point of sale system on Square. Visitors book a timed slot and pay online, staff check them in with a QR code at the gate and produce is paid for at a till running a Square card terminal.
The clever part is Square reconciliation: every online booking creates a customer and payment inside Square, so when the same visitor pays at the till, the in store sale is matched back to their booking automatically, one joined up record of who booked, when they arrived and what they spent.
